'Temporarily Out Of Service' is almost a euphoric listen and Enji switches from pidgin English to local vernacular with grace. The sounds on this album are flawless and the producers came correct. Holstar gives us a concise heartfelt EP that is packed with strong features that include Jay Rox, Yung Verbal and Luwizzy. A modern African, he serenades us with tunes in vernacular. This would totally fit in the afrobeats genre. We're very impressed with the sounds on this record. African music is truly in the right hands. We will continue shinning the spotlight on his creative genius. The sounds on this will definitely do well with the ladies.

She is one of South Africa's greatest hip hop exports by many standards. 'The Return of the Astro - Goth' is our little introduction into the many worlds and creations from this lyrical goddess. The album has a sample heavy, boombapy backdrop with supreme alchemy lyrics sprinkled over it. It features Likwid Skillz, Robo The Technician, Alkabulan, Kanif and Shorty Skills.

The Vinyl Effect can be regarded as the magnum opus of the duo G.AB. and Rapsom'. The album was recorded in Port Harcourt, Nigeria which seems to be a hot bed for lots of thriving creatives. Rapsom' exclusively handles all production on the album and sometimes double as an emcee. G.A.B teams up with him and primarily contributed with hot lyrics. The chemistry between these brothers is quite evident and the result is some of the finest African Hip Hop ever created. If you like that underground and boombap sound, then this records fits like hand in glove. The album also features Rhyme Masta Richy, Kappa and LP(short for Lyrical Postman)

The Age is another album from the catalogue of Ngodwayne. It depicts a certain time in his life where he and his friends actively created new sounds and vibes pretty much all the time. Some of us were lucky to have been around his circles to witness him create. Now we still get to hear and be inspired by his work even with time passed. The Quenstown creative collaborates with Thusitse, Linch and Marvin on this album. Definitely fits a nice chilled indoor Saturday listen if you're open to that sort of thing. He glides through these themes smoothly as he conveys his thoughts through his ryhme schemes as he displays the consciousness of a West African youth. We definitely recommend. This is a dope record.

It was quiet Sunday evening in December 2022. I watched Vinnie Mak perform a live rendition of gems like 'Naninina' and 'Crucifix'. It was an amazing experience watching him and his guitar playing partner. They had us eating from their palms that night at 'Selective Live' in Cape Town. A blues singer and outstanding performer, 'Shades of Man' is a fine offering from Vinnie Mak. The sounds on this record range from soul to afro tech to electronic and the result is lush. Brotha Pollock's beats are dripped in soul gold and Mxps Rellington tells his poetic street tales with an attitude that truly depicts the Nigerian thinking youth. Being and J.Ice assume rhyming duties and deliver pristine vernacular raps over Bionic's soulful beat chops. The contrasting styles leave a pleasing range for the listeners. The use of street slang is very appreciated. Given the influence of 90's Hip Hop as a whole on the African continent, hearing vernacular raps create a sense of familiarity for those of us that understand. It is a very tribal record and is definitely a highly recommend from our curators.

With early days trailing back to the super group known as Tuck Tyght (pronounced as Talk Tight) that ran the air waves in Port Harcourt, Nigeria in the early 2000's, the simple fact that Vokulz has an album out right now is such an amazing feeling for some of us who have been keeping tabs. This album showcases his range and depth. He raps on all kinds of beats and instrumentals. A true professional emcee and the album is simply amazing. Vokulz is very thorough and we are very much entertained. The album features production mainly by Juve along with Billy Dolomite (who also double contributes with a verse appearances), Wild Face and MHP. He also features Mr Robinson and Teddy Flourish. We hope to hear more from him.

They made sure to cover different sound pockets and the result is very outstanding. Sickluv & Vinnie Mak combine forces for a delicious sound release. 'Breathing' is the name of the single. It is an Afro House motivational type anthem that is very melodic. These South African creatives put their heart in the art and it shows and shines brightly. Definitely a top recommend. 'Summer Zilla II' is an instrumental album from Nigerian DJ and producer Teck Zilla. It is a sequel to a prior album with the same title and as expected, Teck Zilla comes correct. The album is a fine listen with banging drums sprinkled with soulful vibes. This is definitely a banger and is actually fitting for listening with your mates while you chill and sip wine. 'Burnt Offering' is a 3 track EP from the mind of the West African Goat himself. PayBac Iboro shows his range albeit still staying true to himself. 'Burnt Offering' is another stellar addition to his ever growing catalogue. The sounds are Hip Hop and experimental yet still very well put together. Definitely a strong recommend. 'Music Is The Lifestyle, Example 1' is an album by Nigeria's very own Ben Hilly. This dude is so eclectic with it. He shows his range with the spectrum of sounds on this album. Shape shifting from singing to rapping, the whole listening experience is definitely enjoyable as he mixes a whole bunch of funky sounds all together. This is a top recommend and we're hoping that by the album title that there is probably some sort of sequel in the works. Stream, share and stream again.

Jango Jack is a French rapper and singer originally from Cameroon in West Africa. 'Neuf Vies' which translates to 'Nine Lives' is an album by Jango Jack. The album has elements of Hip Hop, R&B and is very much considered a French Urban record. This album was an amazing find on first listen back in the day and it still is. Jango Jack has continued creating musical art over the years. 'Neuf Vies' was our introduction to his work and we are here for all of it because we don't mind the language barrier. 'Kunta Serendipity' is the second Kunta release in the series. A jazzy, boombap album sprinkled with movie and TV anecdotes as well as some local verbage, the result is quite a different listening experience but still enjoyable. Whatever made MHP (also known as iamMHP) conjure up this idea it it is most likely that it definitely draws strong inspiration from Madlib's 'Quasimoto' albeit in a deeper tone of voice. The album is entirely produced by iamMHP with a single feature: JazzZ. This is a top recommend. Explore, stream and share.

A super producer and sound engineer, Ngodwayne always delivers and 'Made for me' is another fire example of his sound dishes. The music clearly speaks for itself on 'Irapada'. A single release by Oyedele in 2025 with creative contributions from BoyLiam and Femi Leye. These dudes really put in the work on this record and it clearly shows so we are here for it as we should. 'Irapada' is a single song release from the Nigerian creative. Oyedele seems to have vision with exactly what he is trying to do and deserves his accolades for creating fine sounds for us to feast on. 'Irapada' has elements of soul and Hip Hop and the combination slaps real hard. Please stream, share and enjoy.
